An Outsider History of Hardline reviews, describes, and critiques the Hardline ideology and scene that grew out of 1980s anarcho-punk and veganism/animal liberation activism and adopted strong anti-abortion and anti-homosexual views as integral to its platform. It officially dissolved in 1999 with two short-lived Shi’a Muslim-oriented groups appearing in its wake (first Ahl-i Allah aka People of God and then Taliyah al-Mahdi aka Vanguard of the Messiah). Notable for having helped spark the vegan straight edge movement.
